PrivacyPolicy.
The short version: we collect what you type into our contact form so we can reply, we count anonymous quiz results, and we use cookieless analytics to see how the site is used. We do not sell your information. We use the Meta Pixel to measure our Instagram and Facebook ads, and you can opt out (see section 06).
01Who we are
Thread Theory Creative ("Thread Theory," "we," "us") is a content agency based in Seattle, Washington and Boise, Idaho. This policy covers threadtheorycreative.com and its pages (the "Site"). It does not cover our client engagements, which are governed by separate written agreements.
02Information you give us
When you fill out a contact form we collect your first and last name, email address, company, the services you are interested in, and anything you write in the message field. We use it to reply to you and to decide whether we are a good fit to work together. Submissions are delivered to our team by email through Cloudflare's email service and are kept in our business email and records.
03The content quiz
Quiz answers are scored in your browser. We record only anonymous events: that a quiz was started or finished, the resulting score and tier, whether the visit came from Instagram, Facebook, or elsewhere, and whether a phone was used. We do not record your name, email, IP address, or any cookie with these events, and they cannot be linked back to you.
04Information collected automatically
Cloudflare Web Analytics. We use Cloudflare's privacy-first analytics to understand how the Site is used. It does not use cookies, does not track you across other websites, and does not fingerprint your device. It gives us aggregate information such as page views, the site that referred you, country, browser and device type, and page load performance.
Server logs. Cloudflare, which hosts and protects the Site, processes standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested in order to deliver the Site securely and defend against abuse. That data is handled under Cloudflare's own retention policies.
05Cookies
We do not set cookies for site functionality. The Meta Pixel described in the next section sets cookies (such as _fbp) to measure our advertising, and third-party services may set cookies when you choose to interact with them, for example when you play a video. You can block or clear cookies in your browser at any time, and the Site will keep working. We do not respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals.
06Third-party services
- Vimeo. Videos on our work pages play in a Vimeo player that loads only when you click to watch. Vimeo may set cookies and collect data under the Vimeo Privacy Policy.
- Google Fonts. Our typeface is served from Google's servers, so your browser sends its IP address to Google to fetch it. See the Google Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare. Hosts the Site, delivers form submissions, stores anonymous quiz events, and provides analytics and security. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
- Google Workspace. Runs our business email, where your inquiries land.
- Instagram, LinkedIn, and Vimeo links. Links to our profiles take you to those platforms, which have their own privacy practices.
Advertising and the Meta Pixel. We run ads on Meta platforms (Instagram and Facebook) and use the Meta Pixel on this Site to measure whether those ads work. The pixel tells Meta that your browser visited the Site, which pages you viewed, and when you complete an action we care about: finishing the content quiz (along with the score and tier, not your answers) or submitting the contact form. It sets a cookie in your browser, and Meta may match that activity to your Meta account to report ad results to us and to show you more relevant ads. Meta handles this data under the Meta Privacy Policy. We do not use Google Analytics or any other advertising code on this Site.
Opting out. You can limit this at any time: adjust your ad preferences and "Activity off Meta technologies" settings in your Facebook or Instagram account, block third-party cookies in your browser, install a content blocker, or use the industry opt-out tools at optout.aboutads.info. If you would like us to delete the contact-form information we hold about you, reach us through the contact page.
07How we use information
- To respond to your inquiry and evaluate whether we are a fit.
- To prepare proposals and, if we work together, to deliver our services.
- To operate, secure, and improve the Site, including preventing spam and abuse.
- To understand which pages and campaigns are working, using aggregate data.
- To comply with legal obligations.
08How we share information
We share personal information only with the service providers listed above, who process it on our instructions; when required by law, legal process, or to protect safety and rights; and, if Thread Theory is ever sold or merged, with the successor business. We do not sell or rent personal information. Apart from the Meta Pixel described in section 06, which some state laws treat as "sharing" for targeted advertising, we do not share personal information with third parties for their own marketing.
09How long we keep it
Contact inquiries are kept for as long as needed to respond to you and to maintain our business records. Quiz events are anonymous and aggregate, and may be kept indefinitely. Analytics data is retained according to Cloudflare's policies. You can ask us to delete your inquiry at any time.
10Your choices and rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete, or restrict the personal information we hold about you by reaching us through our contact page. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
California residents
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request deletion or correction, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell it; to opt out of ad-measurement sharing, see section 06), and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
Visitors from the EU, UK, and Switzerland
Our legal bases for processing are your consent (when you submit a form) and our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Site and responding to business inquiries. You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Data is processed in the United States.
11Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12Security
The Site is served over HTTPS, our forms include spam protection, and we use established infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will post the new version here with an updated effective date. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
